Gilded & Coloured Rooster Design

This Australian Lunar silver coin celebrates the Year of the Rooster. The reverse of this coin depicts a a rooster with a rising sun and a camellia, a Chinese native plant. These elements are surrounded by a border of bats and clouds, symbolizing health, peace and prosperity. The rooster is gilded in 24-carat gold, while the bats are coloured bronze and the clouds coloured orange. The design also includes the year-date and the Chinese character for 'rooster'.

99.9% Pure Silver

The specimen quality coin is struck from 5oz of 99.9% pure silver with selective gilding and colour on the reverse.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, it features Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the $8 denomination.

This coin is housed in a sheoak timber presentation case accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
